Christine Gibbons, BA, L.Ac.

   Chinese Medicine Practitioner

Where Chinese medicine meets intuitive insight—supporting balance through life’s transitions.

Chinese Medicine and the I Ching.

I am a Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Licensed Acupuncturist based in New York, trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Physical Medicine. I specialize in the cultivation and restoration of Shen—the spirit that resides within the body. The Shen is housed in the Heart and is translated as "spirit," "mind," or "consciousness". It is often described as the "light behind the eyes" or "vitality" that makes a person truly alive and present.

Part of my background is that I have a BA in Psychology, which informs how I understand symbolism, meaning-making, human behavior and the relationship between conscious and unconscious processes.

The I Ching (Book of Changes) is an ancient Chinese philosophical text and system of divination that uses binary hexagrams to map natural cycles and offer moral advice. My consultation combines the wisdom of the I Ching with psychological perspectives on archetypes, the ego and these unconscious patterns.

These sessions are separate from my acupuncture practice. I do not offer Acupuncture at this time but the sessions are effective on their own.

These sessions utilize esoteric, philosophical and holistic lifestyle tools for personal growth and are not a substitute for clinical mental health counseling or standard psychiatric care. They are not healthcare services and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical or psychological conditions.

My Approach.

My approach is to be very openminded and present. I am an intuitive and  a clairvoyant and I work on an energetic level with you. My goal is to be as detail oriented as I can be, giving you a full picture and understanding as to how everything is connected.

I started working as a licensed acupuncturist in 2011. However, I also worked in social services for 8.5 years prior to becoming an acupuncturist. I worked in the fields of child abuse prevention, mental health and drug and alcohol addiction in the criminal justice system in Philadelphia, PA. I understand the challenging path to well-being and believe in desensitizing the heaviness often associated with emotions and problems. I trust that everything unfolds in its own time and that what works for one person may not work for another.

These sessions are an opportunity for viewing the body as a holistic system balanced by Qi, Yin-Yang, and the Five Elements. They emphasize clarity and understanding while recognizing that mental and physical health are interconnected. The goal is to get you back on track with insight and wisdom.
